- Breastmilk Jewelry: Always made with breastmilk that you provide. As a breastfeeding mother myself, I understand the value in knowing that it is your own personal breastmilk being used to create your jewelry. I preserve all milk individually and never bulk preserve. I take every precaution necessary to eliminate the possibility of orders getting mixed up. When I recieve your breastmilk, it is immediately labeled, sterilized, and properly preserved. Breastmilk jewelry preserves such special memories only shared between you and your baby; each piece is handmade to your specifications but please keep in mind once your milk is preserved, it can take up to two weeks to dry out before it can be crushed into powder form and able to be mixed and cast into your one-of-a-kind stone.
What is the turnaround time? What if I don’t see what we like?
Turn around times can vary from piece to piece. Most leather jewelry, the turnaround time is within 1 week of ordering. If I need to order special pearls or gemstones not on hand, you will be notified immediately with an update. Turnaround times can also vary due to shipping delays etc. but I will keep you updated on all progress as I work to create your custom jewelry.
DNA Jewelry can vary from 6-12 weeks turnaround time. I will update you through the whole process. Your turn around time starts from the time I receive your inclusions.
Delays in turnaround time do not result in refunds. Jewelry is ordered as soon as your order is received. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Can jewelry tarnish or will oxidation occur? What can I do to ensure the longevity of my jewelry?
Like any metal jewelry (sterling silver and yes even solid golds) oxidation will occur and need to be cleaned regularly to remove body oils and moisture from the metals. The best way to prevent oxidation is to keep the jewelry as dry as possible. Store different types of jewelry separately in a cool dark area. The easiest way to do this is by keeping your jewelry in its original box.
Oxidation is not the same as tarnishing!
Rose Gold Plated jewelry costs the same as sterling silver. You are ultimately purchasing sterling silver that is PLATED in rose gold; please understand that overtime rose gold fades. If you want a rose gold piece that lasts a lifetime, guaranteed not to fade or diminish, please purchase a solid gold setting such as 14k rose gold.
How to clean my jewelry & is my jewelry waterproof?
Each handcrafted piece is made with the absolute best materials available. As with anything proper care and use will ensure its longevity in the years to come. Be sure to avoid alcohols & hand sanitizers, artificial tanning beds, self tanner, over exposure to sun and high heat, paints, stains, bleach, and other harsh chemicals.
To Clean Precious Metals
All precious metals can become discolored or dull overtime from regular wear and exposure to body oils. Avoiding the stone, discoloration can be removed using a mild soap with warm water. For general cleaning use a non abrasive cloth or a soft toothbrush when needed to clean hard to reach places. A gentle dish soap, baking soda, vinegar, or a non-moisturizing hand soap are all acceptable.
Leather Care
Leather is treated with a preservation cream prior to shipping. Over time leather can dry and become brittle. To avoid drying, I recommend to condition leather every six months or every month with regular wear. You can condition your leather with pure shea butter, organic coconut oil or mink oil. As with any genuine leather, it will develop a darker and rich color over time.
Pearl Care
A pearls natural glow is the beauty of a natural pearl! Cosmetics, sun block, perfume and hairspray all contain chemicals that can dramatically dull the luster of a pearl. The natural acids contained in body oils and perspiration can also damage pearls in the same way. To ensure it maintains this glow you will always want to put it on as a finishing touch when getting ready.
Epoxy Stone Care
Your hand-crafted stone holds precious memories and its longevity is very important to me as well. Avoid storing this stone in extreme temperatures or prolonged direct sun exposure. Your piece should be removed prior to exposure to high heat, sharp or abrasive objects. Artificial tanning lotions, paints, stains, bleach and harsh chemicals should be avoided as they can permanently discolor and damage your keepsake jewelry.
Please do not submerge your epoxy stones in a jewelry cleaner. Rather, clean gently with a cloth or soft bristle brush with warm water and a gentle soap. Never fully submerge into water and leave soaking.
Epoxy is water resistant but not waterproof. We do not recommend swimming or bathing with your jewelry on, to prevent full submerging your jewelry. If you choose to bathe or swim in your jewelry, please note that overtime your jewelry will lose its shine due to harsh chemicals in your shampoos, soaps, soap scum, calcium or lime build up, and fluoride in the water.
